The purpose of our conference is to convene a national gathering of Black Lesbians to participate in a process that will encourage sharing of experiences, learning from one another and establishing a foundation for future advocacy. The Black Lesbian consumer has a demographic with an average household income higher than the average African-American woman. According to our latest surveys 65% of all participants’ income levels exceed $35,000, with approximately 15% reporting income greater than $60,000. Over 85% of the participants have completed some college, with 50% reporting completed college, and a significant percentage having earned advanced degrees.
